Why Families Choose Us
When you walk into Evergreen Haven, you don't feel like you've entered a facility. You feel like you've come home. That feeling matters โ for your loved one, and for you.
A warm, comfortable residence โ not an institution. Familiar settings, home-cooked meals, and personal touches that make every resident feel at ease.
Our team is trained in advanced behavioral management techniques โ managing dementia challenges with compassion, not overmedication.
With only 9 residents, we know every person deeply โ their preferences, routines, favorite foods, and what brings them joy each day.
Our experienced Registered Nurse brings extensive dementia care knowledge and monitors residents closely, catching subtle changes before they become problems.
Gardening, games, music, crafts, pet visits, and community events โ designed to keep residents active, engaged, and connected to life.
You are part of the team. We communicate openly, welcome visits, and work with you to ensure your loved one's care reflects their unique story.
Our Approach
One of the most common concerns families have when choosing memory care is overmedication. Many large facilities sedate residents to manage behavioral symptoms โ it's easier for staff but harder on your loved one.
At Evergreen Haven, we take a different approach. We redirect, engage, and connect. Our team is trained in dementia-specific behavioral management, and we treat agitation, confusion, or anxiety as communication โ not inconveniences to suppress.
"To nurture a vibrant community where every resident flourishes through exceptional care, dignity, and respect."
โ The Evergreen Haven MissionDaily Life at Evergreen Haven
Our days are structured but flexible โ built around what each resident enjoys. We believe meaningful activity is medicine. Engagement, connection, and purpose improve quality of life for people with dementia.
Ownership
Evergreen Haven is owned and operated by Bob and Courtney Higginbotham. Bob spent over 30 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Police Captain. Courtney holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and has spent her life in service to others.
This isn't an investment property to them โ it's a calling. They chose this work because they believe everyone deserves to age with dignity, and they saw a need in their community for a better option.
